This document provides an overview of different DNA testing methods - such as short tandem report (STR), Y-chromosome, and mitochondrial DNA testing - to provide support for choosing the most appropriate DNA test. In addition, common elements of forensic DNA reports are discussed to provide a basic understanding of interpretation.
